NEW APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE LEARNED IN COMPUTER CLASS

3D MAX STUDIO

The rendering software that is newly introduced to this year to me with the basics learned so far and hoping to improve in it more.

3d max studio render gave me some huge challenges in executing rendering. lighting was the most challenging but navigating through has been the most interesting journey as its interface is user friendly.

Below is a picture of the first interior assignment handed to reproduce the interior feel with any modelling software, where i have used Archicad 25

LUMION RENDER

The rendering software that i have been engaged with before. Had basics in it until it was introduced to me in a more simpler way of finding how to use it. So it was not hard to learn more tools and its techniques, there is more improvement to the applications

It was a bit challenging in terms of light setting which i had to duck deep into you tube channel to find they lighting is set and applied.

GENERAL COMMENTS

GENERALLY IT HAS BEEN A PRODUCTIVE SEMESTER WITH NEW INVENTIONS AND MORE LEARNING. AT FIRST I WAS HIGHLY PANICKING TRYING TO DIVE IN NMU ARCHITECTURE CULTURE, WHICH I FINALLY I UNDERSTOOD THEY WAY AND STYLE OF DOING THINGS. I AM PROUD TO BE HERE, AND BE COUNTED AMONGST THE SUCCESSFUL FUTURE ARCHITECT. LOOKING FORWARD FOR MORE NEW IDEAS SEMESTER TWO.

Hello! I am an Architectural Technologist student at Nelson Mandela university

JAZZ MUSIC INSTITUTE

The proposed location for the project is Nelson Mandela University. The site is situated on flat terrain landscape, with small sand dunes towards the east. The site is facing north with clear view to the the north campus. The site is rectangular in shape following the existing linear pattern of the campus and the area allocated adequate enough for the proposed project to fit in.

ACDA 400 SECOND SEMESTER PROJECTS

CIRCA GALLERY ( CASE STUDY)

The main project for the semester is the Jazz music institute which will be covered in all 4 modules. Although, the project is mainly for studio work 4 module, Construction and details also take part in technical aspect of the project. Therefore, we were task to do case study of the similar project.

Four projects were selected where one had to pick a single project to work on. Circa gallery looked interesting to work on, hence i chose it.

Designed by StudioMas Architects in 2009, Circa Gallery and trumpet mixed use is located in Rosebank, Johannesburg in South Africa. The Precinct was designed as cultural gathering that gives visitors exposure of different types of art (Circa).

Circa Gallery looking into its functionality, it does not serve as only art gallery but as a city monumental Landmark.
